With an attendance of 1,450, Alcorn, 131.5, stepped up the
competition with last-minute opponent Cheryl Nance, 133.5, of
North Carolina. The two battled it out, until the fifth round of a
scheduled six-round non-title fight, when Alcorn finished off the
job and stopped Nance after knocking her to the canvass. Nance
was stopped at :57 seconds in that round. Alcorn, the current
WIBF lighweight champion, took the last-minute fight with Nance,
after her long-scheduled opponent, Imelda Arias, was
pregnant. Alcorn improved her record to 14-0-0 (10KO).
Nance is now 6-8-0 (6KO). Full

At the D.C. Tunnel Event Center, in
Washington, D.C., Isra "Raging Beauty" Girgrah won a
six-round unanimous decision over Cheryl Nance. All judges scoring
was 60-54, 59-55, and 59-55. Girgrah improved her record to 20-3-2 (9KO)

covering two fights ringside of Cheryl Nance....The first time I met Nance
was in Portland, Oregon, when she fought Margaret McGregor in a
six-rounder on a Fox Sports Net card. The second fight was with
Nance on the card of Sugar Ray Leonard's first promotion on ESPN2 that was
held in Toppenish, Washington.
