Vaia "Vicious" Zaganas lived up to her
ring name when she stopped Tracey Stevens in the second round when
Stevens did not come out for the third round. Vaia dominated the fight up
to that point, with one insider reporting to WBAN that the fight was
"Shockingly one-sided."
June 20, 2003 -new Home Depot Center, in
Carson, California
On an ESPN2 "Friday Night at the Fights" card, and promoted by Gary
Shaw Promotions, There were two women's matches featured on the undercard.
One of the women's matches made it on television after Diego
Corrales knocked out his opponent Damian Fuller in the third
round. The women's match that was televised was a four-round featherweight
between Mariam Rosario and
Lisa Martin,, both making their pro
debut. Tale of the Tape: Martin, 124 lbs, 5'5", 35 years old,
fighting out of Oceanside, California. Rosario, 18 years old, and 17
years younger than Martin, 5'2", weighing in at 129.5 lbs. In the fight,
Rosario remained more of
the aggressor throughout the fight, but Martin walked away as the winner
with a majority decision. Final scoring was 38-38, 39-37, 40-36.
In the second women's match, Anastasia
Toktaulova, from Russia, but fighting out of California, made it a
short night when she KO'd Canadian

Edgewater, 27-year-old Tracey Stevens, 105, won a four-round
unanimous decision over Stephanie Dobbs, 107.5. Stevens
knocked Dobbs down in the second round, with Dobbs taking an eight
count. Final judges scoring was 40-35 on all cards. I
spoke to Stevens after the fight. Stevens said that she felt very good
after the fight with Dobbs. Stevens said that she has been
professionally boxing since 1998, but that she had a long layoff, and came
back to fight Mary Duron. Stevens said that prior to becoming a pro
boxer, she spent four years as an amateur boxer.PHOTOS

unanimous decision. Duron improved her record to 4-3-1, and Stevens fell
