December 17, 2005 - in Max Schmeling Halle, Berlin, Germany
In front of a sell-out 10,000 crowd, United States Laila "She Bee Stingin" Ali, 169.5,  defeated Asa Sandell, 166.5, of Sweden,  1:51 seconds, of the fifth round by TKO. Sandell had look stunned after a hard right 90 seconds into the fifth round. Ali took advantage of that opportunity, and threw a barrage of combinations, backing Sandell up against the ropes, and peppering her with more quick combos.  Sandell looked out of breath and failed to defend herself, so the referee stopped the fight. The fight was delayed by about 30 minutes, awaiting the arrival of Muhammad Ali. Laila Ali had announced, that she would not enter the ring until her father was seated at ringside. Also, tonight the United Nations Association of Germany (DGVN) presented Muhammad Ali with the prestigious Otto Hahn peace medal for his lifelong engagement in the American civil rights movement as well as his activities as a UN goodwill ambassador.
