Junior Flyweight Carina Moreno, 109,
of Watsonville, California, remains undefeated with 6-0-0 (2KO),
when she won a six-round unanimous decision over Maribel Ocasio
Soto, 112, of Puerto Rico, now 4-8-2 (0KO). According to Jesus
Sanchez, Carina Moreno won a unanimous six round decision over
Maribel Ocasio-Soto in Salinas on Saturday night. Maribel was
overmatched and constantly held Carina throughout the fight.
Surprisingly the referee did not warn Maribel or deduct any points
for the constant holding! Carina landed her straight right almost at
will but there were no knockdowns. All three judges scored the fight
60-54 for Carina.
