Stephanie Dobbs,
20-20-2,  won by UD5 over winless Savannah Hill.  Hill is now 0-4-0. Scores 50-45 all cards. It is amazing that a boxer with that little of experience as Hill, with no wins on her record,  can do so well against someone with over 40 fights.  WBAN would like to see the footage on this bout.

March 26, 2005 - Kansas City, Missouri
Mary Ortega
, 110,  stopped Stephanie Dobbs, 108,  in the second round by TKO.  Team Dobbs told WBAN, when we asked about this fight, "Unfortunately the fight was stopped prematurely in the second round. Stephanie was hit with about 3 unanswered punches and the referee Danny Campbell jumped in to a chorus of boos. When we asked him why after the fight he said,   'Because of the Katie Dallam thing and all the bad press about it lately, we don't want to take any chances with women's fights.'   He went on to say that if the fight were 'anywhere but Kansas City, I wouldn't have stopped it.' That same referee also did the main event between two males were one guy was knocked down 3 times in the first round before he finally stopped it. Stephanie was never down or hurt and because of her experience and record of hanging in with tough fighters should have been given a chance to be Stephanie. As far as the fight goes it was a non stop slugfest with both landing a lot of shots. But, it was a good fight and Mary wasn't winning by much at the time of the stoppage."

Taylor said that Moreno survived a physical, occasionally rambunctious battle with a "Warrior" named Stephanie Dobbs, winning with a unanimous decision (60-53 all score cards.  "Moreno stuck her opponent repeatedly with a long left jab, peppered her with effective combinations, and was given credit for a knockdown just before the second-round bell."  Full Copyrighted story by the Monterey Herald  Also Kelsey Jeffries won a six-round unanimous decision over Lisa Lewis in a six-rounder, with Jeffries winning all rounds.

April 8, 2004 - Wyndham Inn, Baltimore, Maryland
Experience proved the difference as Vaia Zaganas, 103 1/2,  captured the NABA strawweight title with a unanimous decision over gutsy Stephanie Dobbs, 101 3/4.  Using her movement and jab, Zaganas piled on the points in a 10-round title bout held at The Wyndham Inn in front of a large crowd. Now the Las Vegas resident owns two world title belts including the IFBA.   The judges scored the fight 100-90, 99-91, 98-92 for Zaganas.   Despite the clear-cut win, Zaganas said her opponent had vastly improved.  “She showed me a couple of new things, she is improving,” said Zaganas (16-3, 6 KOs) after the fight. “She has nothing to be ashamed of.”  Dobbs said she practiced many new aspects in the gym but learning them and using them for a title fight was like cramming for a test.   “A lot of stuff is newly learned, I’ve only been at this game for two years,” said Dobbs (10-14-2, 5 KOs), who is managed by her husband Bobby Dobbs. “A lot of it is thinking. Sometimes I do something in the ring and I don’t even know I did it.”  The Oklahoma fighter plans to accumulate more boxing skills and become more instinctive in utilizing some of the subtle points of the game that will make a difference.   “Right now I’m thinking a lot but not doing it naturally,” she said. “I want to do it without thinking.”  Zaganas, a Canadian national and former amateur champion, said her plan was to box aggressively using her strength. One added element to her game was going full steam ahead for all 10 rounds.  “I’m happy about my stamina. It was really good and I got stronger,” said Zaganas, who fought for 10 rounds for the first time. Her previous title fight ended in a technical knockout.   “Vaia was in tremendous shape. She basically out-boxed Stephanie,” said Bobby Dobbs. “She looked real good and I give her credit. I didn’t think she would have the hunger but she did.”   Zaganas credits her newly found energy to a special diet that has helped her overcome her penchant for tiring in the latter rounds. This time she refused to sit down between rounds after the fifth frame.   “Now I know I can be strong the entire distance. I know I can start out strong and stay strong,” she said. “My diet is 100 percent better now.”
Though Dobbs suffered a loss, she was still upbeat about moving ahead and perhaps fighting again for the title soon.  “I am still getting better each time out and feel that my best is yet to come,” Dobbs, 23, said immediately after the fight. “This sport isn't made for quitters. If you can't bear the indignity of losing, then you also can't fully appreciate the thrill of victory.”
Dobbs credits her use of head movement and jabs that kept her from getting hit as much as their first fight a year ago. “I made her miss a lot. I caught her with some good shots. I definitely caught her a lot more this time and didn’t get hit a lot this time either,” she said.   Zaganas said she expected the improvements and immediately noticed the difference during the first round.  “I give her credit for coming in really well trained. I could see how she was trying to pick her shots, using defense and using her jab. She improved,” Zaganas, 28, said. “She caught me with one good shot in the first round.” Dobbs said fighting Zaganas again gave her a gauge for her career.  “Congratulations to Vaia Zaganas. A very good fighter who sets the bar for me to reach for,” said Dobbs who will be out of action for approximately six months due to eye surgery. “I will still train and work to be a better fighter so that when I do come back, I will come back with a vengeance.”  The new NABA champion Zaganas plans to jump back in the ring later this month. She also plans to unify the division before moving on to the higher weight class.  “It was a good fight, a crowd pleasing fight,” said Zaganas. “I’d like to fight often if I can.” Report by: Mara Castillon  Dobbs Open Letter about the fight

March 14, 2004 - Pechanga Resort, in Temecula, California
With revenge on her mind Stephanie Dobbs pounded out a six-round majority decision over Nina Ahlin, 103.5,  in a strawweight battle at the Pechanga Resort and Casino on Sunday.  Dobbs, 103,  (10-13-2) avenged a loss to Ahlin with a nonstop assault of the Atlanta-based boxer who was fighting for the first time in 11 months. Their last confrontation occurred in 2002 with Ahlin winning a four-round decision 57-57, 58-56, 59-55.  “It was early in my career I had just started boxing,” said Dobbs, who lives and trains out of Moore, Oklahoma. “I didn’t know that much.”  Ahlin (10-5-1) started the bout sharply with quicker and more accurate punching. Each time Dobbs advanced Ahlin seemed to beat her to the punch but the fighter known as “All Action” kept moving in.  In the second round with the crowd entranced by the action provided in the previous stanza Ahlin continued to move and counter. Dobbs never quit and maintained the pressure despite receiving counter rights.  Finally in the third round Dobbs pressure seemed to be slowing Ahlin. The punches that had missed their mark were now landing. Ahlin landed a thudding left but was met with retaliatory strikes from Dobbs who fired two sidewinder missiles that found their mark.  Ahlin’s corner advised her to step up the attack and not to brawl. She tried fighting from long-range but her legs seemed to lack the spring. Meanwhile Dobbs seemed fresh and had a slight smile on her face as if realizing that the momentum had changed. A big right by Dobbs found its mark but Ahlin struck back. Both found targets for their right hand in the most action-packed round of the fight.  But the energy needed to win the round depleted Ahlin’s reserves as Dobbs punches had more snap. With little resistance from Ahlin, Dobbs swarmed in for the attack and walked through Ahlin’s punches. Most of Dobbs rights were reaching the target while Ahlin tried to stave off the blows but was drained.  “I was real tired,” said Ahlin, 30, who was unable to walk back to the dressing room. The effects of not fighting for almost a year had been too much for the number one ranked strawweight. “I got caught on the ropes too many times.” Dobbs said it was satisfying to avenge her earlier defeat and was confident she would win.

According the Danish News, they wrote the following,
"I need a knockout win" said Anita Christensen before the fight.  And when one saw the two contestants profile, it sure looked like the girl from Randers (Anita Christensen) who will be 32 years old Wednesday, would get her wish granted. Dobbs normally competes as a Strawweight and has a 9-10-2 record, but Dobbs was not defeated as expected."
